Hi friend,
This week I joined 300,000 people in the March for Humanity across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, calling for an end to Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. We turned up in historic numbers to show our solidarity with the Palestinian people, and to demand that the Labor government sanction Israel and stop so called Australia's support of Israel's genocide. Our government is complicit in the starvation of millions of children and civilians, and on Sunday we showed them that they have no more excuses not to act. The next step for this movement is absorption - how can we collectively capitalise on the momentum created on Sunday to keep standing against genocide? Put August 24 in your calendar...
At Tomorrow Movement, the re-frontloading process to create our next strategy is well underway. Applications to join the re-frontloading core team have closed and the agenda for the first retreat is being written. As the genocide in Palestine demonstrates, we live in a time of innumerable injustices occurring against a backdrop of continued contributions to an escalating climate crisis. Together through re-frontloading Tomorrow Movement will look squarely in the eye of the present moment with the unwavering goal of building a bold, joyful movement rooted in justice powerful enough to meet it.

Over the past 5 years of our movement we've learnt that our government isn't coming to save us. If we want a more safe and just future, we're going to have to build it ourselves. That's why we need you to hear from you and your community! We need to practice deep community listening so that we can discover our collective wisdom and build the foundations for more connected and resilient communities.

Last month the final report of the Yoorook Justice Comission, Truth Be Told, was published. The report contains a true timeline of colonisation in Victoria and truth-telling accounts for First Nations peoples from across the state. This account names the colonisation of so-called Australia as genocide and calls for redress for First Peoples of Victoria.

In preparation for re-frontlaoding, some of the Tomorrow Movement team read 'How Much Discomfort is the Whole World Worth', a Boston Review article by Mariame Kaba & Kelly Hayes. It steps through the strategic necessity of work with people who think differently to us in movement building. In order for movements to become big and powerful enough to win the things we're fighting fore, we need to be comfortable with discomfort. Read the article.
