My Story: Why I Fight for a Better Future
“My name is Maddy, and after completing a Biology degree at the University of Wollongong, I decided to dedicate myself to fighting for a future that works for everyone.
Growing up on the South Coast, I’ve seen first hand how economic, political, and social pressures impact young people. Most of us are questioning whether we can afford to have children, or if it’s ethical to raise kids in a world plagued by heatwaves, floods, and bushfires.
That’s why I joined the Tomorrow Movement—to build a Youth Voter Bloc that pushes for transformative change. Together, we’re fighting for a safer climate, First Nations justice, and a climate jobs guarantee where everyone who wants one has access to good jobs.”
Mobilising Young People for the 2025 Federal Election
As an organiser with the Tomorrow Movement, Maddy is working to unite young people across the South Coast to fight for good jobs, great public services, and a safe climate for all.
Young people make up close to 50% of voters—for the first time ever, we have the numbers to decide elections and shift political priorities. But this isn’t just about voting—it’s about transforming who has power in our democracy.
Maddy is leading efforts to:
- Organise local actions that build collective power in communities.
- Mobilise young voters to ensure their voices are heard loud and clear.
- Fight for good jobs, great public services, and a safe climate for all.
