My Story: Why I Fight for a Better Future
“My name is Jack, and in late 2019, my sister and I went on a summer road trip to the South Coast of NSW. When we left home, we were excited for a holiday. Within a few days, we were terrified.
We were stuck in town—the sky was black with smoke throughout the day, all the roads home were closed by fire, and it was the first time the reality of summers in a changing climate hit me. Since then, I’ve been volunteering with Tomorrow Movement on Dharawal country in Wollongong. I’ve been committed to this work because it feels like taking meaningful action to secure a safe future for my family, friends, and community.
Now, as the National Mobilisation Lead for the Youth Voter Block, I’m working to unite young people across the country to fight for a tomorrow that works for everyone, not just big business.”
Mobilising Young People for the 2025 Federal Election
As the National Mobilisation Lead for the Youth Voter Block, Jack is working to build a powerful movement of young people ahead of the 2025 Federal Election.
Young people make up 47% of voters—for the first time ever, we have the numbers to decide elections and shift political priorities. But this isn’t just about voting—it’s about transforming who has power in our democracy.
Jack is coordinating teams across the country to:
- Organise local actions that build collective power in communities.
- Mobilise young voters to ensure their voices are heard loud and clear.
- Fight for good jobs, great public services, and a safe climate for all.
