What is going on??
We are facing an uncertain future: our planet, our democracy and our economy are in crisis. COVID-19 has highlighted the injust and broken systems that rule our lives. For generations, summer used to be a time of fun and relaxation, but now climate change brings the danger and anxiety of record-breaking heat waves and catastrophic bushfires. We can no longer count on basic necessities like a secure job, stable housing or even medical care. Our government has become a tool of the corporate billionaires, enriching themselves and blocking action that would solve this crisis and improve our lives.
Join this call to make sense of all this and work out how we can come together to make real change. We will cover:
- What is a Climate Jobs Guarantee, and how is it the answer to the intertwined climate and economic crises?
- Why are we fighting for a solution to the climate crisis that involves creating good unionised jobs and strong public services in all sectors – from renewables to healthcare & education?
- How does Tomorrow Movement aim to get to this transformative goal?
- Finally, how can you get involved in building up Tomorrow Movement into a powerful movement that collectively participates in civil resistance to make the change we as young people see needs to be made?
This meeting happens fortnightly so please select the date that works for you from the dropdown below.
Please note this call is for under 35s, if you are over 35, we would love your support other ways.
Accessibility: we are committed to making our events accessible to all. If you are experiencing any barriers to participating in this call (for example: you need the slides in advance, language barriers, will need more breaks – any thing at all) please get in touch with Conor at conorb@tomorrowmovement.com
Tomorrow movement acknowledges that our work takes place on stolen land and that sovereignty was never ceded. We recognise the history of invasion and genocide on this continent. There can’t be climate or economic justice without justice for First Nation people.
