Next month will be a critical moment in the fight over how we recover from this crisis.
Scott Morrison is marching forward with a recovery that serves the interests of big business while cutting support for the rest of us. Starting next month, income support will start being cut, pushing hundreds of thousands of people into poverty in the midst of a global pandemic.
This crisis is far from over. And it’s clear that if we let big business call the shots it will be a disaster for the rest of us. We can’t let Scott Morrison’s big business recovery go unchallenged.
That’s why, one month from today, young people will be taking action all over the country to demand good jobs, a safe climate and a recovery that works for all of us.
Your contribution will help us train more young people to lead the mobilisation and provide small grants to young leaders. These grants will help make these actions visually engaging and media worthy by providing paint, fabric and other resources for powerful actions.
No Turning Back is the first step in winning popular support for a Climate Jobs Guarantee: a federally funded, locally administered job program. One that creates meaningful work looking after our communities and solving the climate crisis, with good pay and conditions for all.
Young people all over the country are already planning actions and building groups that will lead the fight in their communities.
We will be rallying at MP offices, dropping banners and painting murals to show that we are here and we are ready to fight for good jobs and a safe climate. We won’t let Scott Morrison just hand over more power to big business without a fight.
We can’t wait to show everyone what a better future could look like on September 18.
